Contact NBC

Did you see War Stories? Did you like it? If so, why not shoot NBC off a letter? As most of you who frequent this site know, War Stories was originally planned as a series but NBC thought it was too risky. Prove them wrong by sending them some fan mail and we may just get to see Jeff on a weekly basis!

I'm not listing NBC's email address because TV companies see snail mail is so much more impressive for this. Email is too easy to send & too easy to ignore. Take some time and send a letter (but if you really want to email them too, their email addresses are here.

**EDIT*** A visitor recommends sending postcards instead of letters:

"Being involved in the postcard drive to get Firefly back on the air (which was, unfortunately unsuccessful), might I give a suggest using postcards, as opposed to letters, to send to NBC. Letters may not be read for a long time, or not at all due to the anthrax scare of 2001-2002. Postcards, however, don't need to be opened, are seen upon arrival, and graphics can be added to the message (using card services on http://www.usps.com). In essence, it's short, sweet, and to the point." Sounds good to me!

Let me recommend not just saying "Jeff is so hot! I want to see him without his shirt on some more! WOOO!" You probably should make some comments about the show in general too (although do mention Jeff's great performance and even his shirtlessness if you like, so they'll hire him for the show :-) and not sound like a rabid Jeff fan, but even a rabid Jeff fan's mail will get noticed!

Watch 1/28 (Tuesday) for Jeff on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) and the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (CBS). Check your local listings for times although Leno is normally on at 11:00 EST and Kilborn is normally on at 12:00 EST.

Jeff makes new Friends

Jeff will be making an appearance on the final? season of Friends (NBC) on Feb. 13. Joey is up for a part in a play and guess who's the star? The official description is as follows:
Joey (Matt LeBlanc) stumbles upon an unusual method of acting in order to impress a famous but pompous fellow actor (guest star Jeff Goldblum, "Jurassic Park") during an audition for a key stage role while a horrified Ross (David Schwimmer) discovers who once mugged him as a child -- and swiped his crude "Science Boy" comics. Elsewhere, a humbled Chandler (Matthew Perry) accepts an internship at a shoe company where the other youthful interns make him feel as old as Methuselah. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arquette and Lisa Kudrow also star.

New Appearance

Jeff will be on the show, "JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" on the WB Thursday Dec. 5 at 9 PM (eastern time. Check your local listing.

Monday, April 22 at 8:00PM ET/PT

Jon’s guests Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park), Illeana Douglas (Ghost World), Christian Slater (Very Bad Things) and Fred Willard (Best In Show) gather at Pinot Hollywood to answer the question "if you were a dessert, what would you be?" and chat about circumventing directors, improvisation, hernias, mixing medications, sensitive sexism and spilling wine all over icon Sean Connery. We recommend you don’t try this at home.

Jiminy Jeff

Jeff is supposed to be on Primetime Glick March 9th. Primetime Glick is Martin Short's mock talk show where he plays interviewer "Jiminy Glick". It comes on Comedy Central 10:00 pm EST/ 9:00 Central (check your listings for exact times).

Sex and Jeff's City

Many sources have reported this rumor. Most recently it's been on Entertainment Tonight and in US Weekly. Check out the Feb 28th issue of US Weekly (a magazine in the US) for a little blurb aboutJeff and Sex and the City star Kirsten Davies. The US Weekly blurb is really small, not worth buying, imho. No photos.

There is a 2-page spread in The Star (March 12, 2002) with some photos. Jeff is even featured on the front page. See Jeff in the Star.

Tabloidy? Yeah, but it's supposed to be new photos!

Jeff on NBC

According to Variety, Jeff just might be on TV soon. NBC execs are deciding on 2002-03 pilots and "War Stories," about journos covering conflicts in Pakistan and elsewhere starring our Jeff. Supposedly, it is is going to center on Jeff and his relationship with an unnamed female who plays a photojournalist. Jeff is going to play a foreign corespondent. Lets hope it works out!

Who is that masked man?

Ok, ok...he's not masked but is that dancing fool on the new Apple iPod commercial Jeff Goldblum? The answer is no. I spoke to a woman in Apple PR and she said it was another actor and not Jeff. However, I bet the resemblance was considered!

Buy Cats and Dogs

October 16th was the release date for Cats and Dogs! You can buy it Amazon.com

Jeff in Toyota Ads?

Yes, I contacted someone at the Toyota PR offices and they said it is indeed Jeff in the Camry ads. He may be in more ads in the future so keep your ears open!

Jeff in the Tabloids

Enquirer and Star (Cover dates August 14. Star, page 18; Enquirer, page 64.) both have the rumor about Jeff and Liz. Star has Mariah Carey on the cover, Enquirer has Chandra Levy. Both have pics of Jeff and Liz together. A friend from chat told me this (with a laugh) so I haven't seen the pictures. I'll have to sneak a peak at the mags up and see.

While I won't swear this isn't true, more reputable mags have reported that the two are just friends. The tabloids have been known to exaggerate the truth and I seriously doubt the validity of this rumor. My guess is that they are friends and the tabloid press has exploited it for a story. However, if you want to read more, check out Yahoo News and a humerous article at the BBC (that agrees with me). Jeff is number 7.

Craig Kilborne recently made a joke, "I hear Jeff Goldblum and Liz Taylor are together. I don't know that it will work out. Liz Taylor is old enough to be . . . Liz Taylor."

Please don't email me anymore and ask if this is true or not! I don't mean to be rude, but I don't know anything about the man's love life, nor do I really care to. I'm just posting this info so you will kindly stop asking me. E-mail Yahoo or the Enquirer or the BBC and ask who their sources are. If they are together, you should wish them happiness :-)

New Apple Powerbook Ad

According to MacWorld, Jeff is going to be voicing a new Apple Powerbook Ad. This ad should appear soon, so keep your ears open.

Every Stewardess Goes to Heaven?

A UK site reports that Jeff Goldblum will co-star with Alicia Silverstone in a new comedy, Every Stewardess Goes to Heaven. The two will play lovers (which seems odd since she played his daughter in Hideaway). Director-writer Daniel Burman has created the story about a doctor who flies to a remote part of Argentina to scatter his wife's ashes. En route, he develops a relationship with a sympathetic stewardess, played by former Batman co-star Silverstone.

I have doubts about this being true, but we'll see what happens!

Hollywood Goes Wild - In Stores Everywhere

I've heard reports of the CD, Hollywood Goes Wild, being seen in stores all over the country and even in Canada. So, you have no excuse not to buy it! If you can't find it, check out Amazon.com. They have it for a great price! If you recall, Hollywood Goes Wild is the CD that Jeff and Peter Harris contributed a song for. Jeff plays the piano and sings the lyrics that he and Harris wrote. Many other celebrities have also done animal related songs. All proceeds go to the Wildlife Waystation, a charitable organization in California.

Auggie Rose on DVD and VHS

Did you miss Auggie Rose when it was shown on cable? Don't fret. You can buy it on DVD (you can buy it on VHS too, but it will be $100 for a few months. The price will probably go down, don't worry). The DVD title has been changed to Beyond Suspicion.

Cats and Dogs Auction

None of the items seem directly Jeff related, but Warner Bros. is holding an auction for some of the props and posters used in & for the film Cats and Dogs. Check it on Ebay

Another of Jeff's films is due for cable release. One of the Hollywood Ten will be released on Starz (a premium movie channel) June 24.

Read the Press Release

Chain of Fools: Delayed

Once again, Chain of Fools has been delayed. Rumor has it that Warner Bros. is heading for a straight to cable release of the film as opposed to a theater release.

The New Imac Ads

Jeff sports a new shorter do and dances around for the series of Imac commercials. There are two in which he waxes poetic about the video capabilities of an Imac (and if I could just catch them with my VCR, I'd show you the video capabilities of this site, but I never can get them on tape!).

What does this mean? Simply that Chain of Fools may never be in theaters. It may go straight a cable network. Is this bad? Not always, but for a movie intended for theater release, I would tend to say yes. To me, it means the studio has given up on the film. They believe it won't be profitable enough in theater release so they are opting for a quick sell. However, at lease we will see the film.

Jeff on Television?

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Jeff is in talks to do a television series. It is reported that it will probably be a comedy but they are still in talks about exactly what it will be about. No scripts have been written but a few ideas have been tossed around. It would be great to see Jeff in a weekly series again!

No JP3

That's not entirely true, there will be a JP3 (Jurassic Park 3) but most sources report that Jeff will not have a mjor role (or any role) in it. The story line is not going to feature Ian Malcom. At least this means they won't kill Ian off!

More Hollywood Goes Wild

The release date for the Hollywood goes wild album is Nov. 15, 2000. As of now, no television special is scheduled.

For those of you who don't remember, the Hollywood Goes Wild album is a compliation album featuring many celebrities singing original (and previously released) music about animals. This cd will feature Jeff singing "Born Freeky". Finally, everyone will get to hear it!

Hollywood Goes Wild . . . Finally

The cd for the wildlife waystation where Jeff sings "Born Freeky" is finally going to released in August. In September there will be a huge broadcast release party that will air on network television. I'm not sure of the exact network at this time. For more information, song samples and to order the cd, visit the Hollywood Goes Wild Website, hollywoodgoeswild.com

Perfume

Jeff has yet another film coming out soon (probably 2001). This film is completely improvasational. According to Michelle Williams, also a star of the film, they were given no scripts at all. They were just given a general direction for each scene to go in and let loose. This film should really showcase Jeff's talents as an actor.

The film is supposedly set in the Fashion World and also stars Omar Epps, Paul Sorvino & James Wilder.

Jeff = Wimp??

The Enquirer reports that Jeff can't handle the pressure of Regis Philmon's successful show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, in a recent story:

That your final answer wimp?

Unlike brave Rosie O'Donnell, "Jurassic Park" star Jeff Goldblum chickened out when a "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" contestant requested him as a phone lifeline. Nice-guy Jeff mulled it, but finally ix-nayed, claiming he couldn't handle the responsibility."

No picture was included with the story.

Thanks to Emilie for pointing this story out

Chain of Fools - A Date

Here it is, the new release date for Chain of Fools, September 22, 2000! Mark your calender and hope that there are no further delays.

Chain of Fools - DELAYED

Why is it that every movie Jeff touches gets delayed? Chain of Fools follows the grand tradtion of Trigger Happy and Holy Man by it's release being indefinitely delayed. Hopefully it will be out in the summer.

According to Warner Brothers, the company producing the film, they are delaying the movie in favor of a movie called "My Dog Skip" which is targeted at the Pokemon crowd (if any of you saw the Pokemon film, you say a preview). This film has tested well and it's my theory that Warner thinks this will make a better "spring break" film for kids.

Stay tuned for the new release date.
